The joy of doing nothing!

Are you just plain worn out? Do you need some time to reset and recharge? That’s okay and that is exactly what you should do when you need it. I know it can be tough to dedicate a day just to yourself when you have kids and spouse, but you can bribe your spouse into taking care of the kids solely for one day? Be on kid duty for the whole day in exchange for you doing it another day? Yeah? Great!

So, what should we do with our day that we have all to ourselves? What do you want to do? Would you like to get in some activities that you normally don’t get to do? Too much exertion? That’s okay. How about hitting the beach with a good, long book? Hitching a ride on a friend’s boat so you can be chauffeured around with your feet up in the front of the boat. Or maybe just sitting in your own yard soaking in some sun. (just don’t forget the sunblock!)

None of that sounds appealing to you? Maybe spending the day in front of the t-v watching movies or binge-watching shows? Maybe do it while lounging in bed all day. It’s okay! That’s what this day is all about.

Get a manicure or a spa treatment. Or just stay in the house and order in all your food. Or have your partner make all your meals. Having a whole day to yourself to do whatever you want with absolutely no expectations is the best feeling in the world. And no guilt! You deserve this. You need this. The world won’t fall apart with your absence in one day.

So, pick a day and get busy making plans to do nothing. It’s the absolute best! Relax and enjoy!

It’s “I wish it were cocktail Friday, Thursday”. But make today, your best day yet.
